Breakthrough Sacramento students visit the UC Davis Center for Neuroscience
July 29, 2017
Breakthrough Sacramento (http://breakthroughsac.org/) is a free program for underserved and highly motivated students. The program's mission is to help their students succeed in their education from middle through high school, make their college selection, and thrive in the college setting.
Last week, the Center for Neuroscience hosted Breakthrough Sacramento students for a morning of lab visits (shout-out to the Ekstrom, Hanks, McAllister and Nord labs!) and fun interactive science demonstrations put together by our volunteers. This was the first time the Center opens its doors to K-12 students and it was a lot of fun!
Many thanks to our new Center director, Dr. McAllister; our co-organizers Kaity Roning and Najwa Marrush; and everyone involved, for making this happen!
