Graduate school is exciting, fulfilling and intellectually stimulating; it can also be frustrating, disappointing and doubt-triggering. During my graduate school years I was fortunate to have a group of fantastic faculty mentors I would turn to for scientific, career, and even personal advice. Fast forward a few years, the graduate students of our program surprised me yesterday with the Outstanding Graduate Mentor in Neuroscience Award! I am honored and lucky to be part of this group and to have the opportunity to pass forward all that my mentors taught me.
At UC Davis Neuro we love good beer and we love neuroscience! Our students found the perfect way to combine these two passions: neuro outreach at Sudwerk's, a popular local brewery. The music was good (UCDavis students and faculty played live), the beer was cold, and the mission was accomplished!
